Rules dogs on the beach: high season

Dogs are welcome on the beach of the municipality of Noordwijk. However, rules apply on certain parts of the beach and at certain times of the year.

Dog beach

A special dog beach has been set up from exit 1 in a southerly direction right up to the border with the municipality of Katwijk. Dogs are welcome here all year round. Dogs don’t have to be kept on a leash on the dog beach. However, you must clean up after your dog.

Dogs are welcome if kept on a leash: 1 June to 31 August incl.

For hygiene reasons, dogs are welcome if kept on a leash on the following parts of the beach:

  • the beach north of Koningin Wilhelmina Boulevard: between exit 21 and beach post 80.500
  • by exit 24 at Duindamse Slag: the beach situated between beach posts 78.000 and 77.500
  • by exit 27 at Langevelderslag: the beach situated between beach posts 75.000 and 74.500
  • on the nudist beach south of Duindamse Slag: the beach situated between beach posts 79.500 and 78.000
  • on the nudist beach north of Langevelderslag: the beach situated between beach posts 73.000 and 74.000

Dogs are not allowed on the beach in front on both boulevards: 1 June to 31 August incl.

For hygiene reasons, dogs are not allowed on the beach in front of both boulevards. In short, dogs are not allowed on the beach from 1 June to 31 August incl.:

  • on the beach in front of both boulevards between exit 1 and exit 21
  • at exits 2 to 20, including the footpath on the dyke-in-dune
  • at the outdoor cafés and pavilions situated between exit 1 and exit 21

Dogs are welcome if kept on a leash: 1 January to 31 December incl.

  • Dogs must be kept on a leash all year round on the beach by Noordvoort. The beach north of Langevelderslag situated between beach posts 73.000 - 71.500.
